Tool Maker / Machinist
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide tooling and machining support for motor, rotor and stator manufacturing business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Work with production scheduler to manufacture fixtures, jigs and miscellaneous tooling in a timely manner. Assist Engineering with tooling design and manufacturability as needed. • Assist with the repair of manufacturing tooling and equipment as directed by Tooling/CNC production supervisor. • Work within tooling department to optimize machine usage time and reduce constraints due to time, material, or equipment. • Program, setup and run CNC machine tool equipment and setup and run manual machine tool equipment efficiently. • Inform your Supervisor of tooling material inventory to keep it at an appropriate level. Request general or special materials as necessary. • Work directly with production and engineering personnel to troubleshoot problems with tooling or manufacturing equipment. • Support general machine shop production schedules by filling in to perform production-machining operations as requested. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: • Basic computer knowledge. • Ability to setup and run a broad range of manual machining equipment. • Ability to communicate and work effectively with various levels of the organization including production, scheduling, engineering, and management. Education: • High School diploma is required plus 2 or more years of machining experience. • A 2-year degree in a tooling or machining discipline is preferred. Experience: • Experience in a manufacturing or tooling setting is preferred. • Experience and/or training in writing and executing CNC programs in G&M code is required. • CAMWorks programming experience a plus.
