Windings is hiring an Engineering Technician to assist in the support of capable processes and ensures efficient and effective manufacture of product in production. The technician is responsible for the execution of defined technical tasks associated within a manufacturing environment. What you will be doing... Provide direct engineering support in the areas of workflow documentation and planning. This includes creating and maintaining internal process documentation and forms. Assist with improvements to manufacturing methods and procedures, including writing change orders and deviations. With direction from engineer, document components, tooling and fixtures per company standards using Solid works software. Execute defined tasks to reduce department costs associated with materials and process. Execute development builds associated with project. Execute defined tasks to improve department process and quality. Gathers and provides technical data for technical reviews. Develop understanding of key production processes and materials. Execute dimensional characterization methodology using inspection criteria. Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause. Assist in requirements gathering ensuring complete and correct revisions. Execute defined experimentation in an engineering lab environment. Execute defined tasks to maintain and improve safety in the workplace. May Assist in creating technical presentations for internal and external customers What you need.... Education: This is an entry-level position requiring a 2-year degree in a technical field; equivalent industrial or technical experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree. Experience: Industrial experience in a manufacturing and/or electrical/electronic area is preferred Knowledge/Skills: Basic understanding of electric motor theory and principles, including typical mechanical and electrical inspection methods a plus Working knowledge of English (verbal and written) is required Basic computer knowledge, including the use of Microsoft Office or similar software. General understanding and working knowledge of common engineering concepts & applications including statistical and scientific tools a plus (e.g., Gage R&R, DOE, process capability, SPC, etc.) Ability to Identify technical problems and execute solutions relevant to task using a systematic problem-solving approach Ability to develop effective work relationships with internal customers of the company Ability to understand and follow the Company’s Quality System and documentation practices Ability to understand customer requirements and product needs Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
