Account Clerk
New Ulm Public Utilities Commission is accepting applications for the position of Account Clerk – Accounts Payable in the Finance Department. This position is responsible for processing accounts payable and related financial transactions for the City of New Ulm and the Public Utilities Commission. Duties include processing vendor invoices and payments (checks, ACH/EFT), maintaining vendor records, assisting with council reports, supporting special assessments and audits, providing backup for utility billing, business licensing, and serving as a point of contact for internal staff and the public. This position works closely with Finance staff to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and experience with accounting or billing systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of accounting experience; collections experience is preferred. An associate’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. Pay range: $30.17 – $38.74 depending on qualifications.
