Sr. Quality Engineer

As the Senior Quality Engineer in our AS9100 compliant manufacturing company, you will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality systems and processes to ensure adherence to AS9100 standards. Your primary focus will involve driving continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing quality control procedures, conducting root cause analyses, ensuring the successful completion of FAI reports, supplier monitoring and approvals as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize product quality and compliance within the AS9100 framework. Responsibilities • Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and protocols in alignment with AS9100 standards to ensure product quality throughout the manufacturing process. • Lead and support complex root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address quality issues, reduce non-conformances, and enhance process efficiency. • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to identify areas for quality improvements, recommend enhancements, and drive implementation. • Participate in customer and supplier quality discussions, addressing concerns and ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards. • Ensure first article inspections are conducted and completed in a timely manner and in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements. • Provide oversight and approval of external suppliers to ensure quality compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. • Work cross-functionally utilizing quality improvement methods to perform the assessment, planning, implementation, and validation of products and processes. • Mentor and train junior quality personnel, fostering a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement. Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field Experience: • 5 years of progressive experience in a quality engineering role, within an AS9100-compliant manufacturing environment preferred. • Professional member (i.e., Certified Quality Engineer, Black or Green Belt ASQ certification, QMS certification, etc.) would be a plus. Knowledge / Skills • Expertise in AS9100 quality management systems and their practical implementation in a manufacturing setting. • Proficiency in conducting root cause analyses, applying statistical tools for quality improvement, and utilizing quality methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean principles. • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving quality initiatives to successful completion. • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve quality processes. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. • Experience in customer and supplier interactions, addressing quality concerns, and ensuring alignment with AS9100 standards.
