The City of New Ulm is seeking a full-time Recreation Coordinator – Aquatics and Fitness for the Park and Recreation Department. This position oversees aquatic and fitness programs, staff, and daily Recreation Center operations while ensuring safe, high-quality services, and positive customer experiences. Key responsibilities include planning and supervising aquatic and fitness programs and events; hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising staff; teaching and coordinating certification courses (Lifeguard, WSI, CPR/AED, First Aid); conducting staff trainings; assisting with facility operations and customer service; promoting programs; enforcing pool safety and health codes; maintaining records; and assisting with budgeting. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, along with one year of supervisory and one year of instructional experience (or five years of related experience in place of a degree). Required certifications are preferred at hire and must be obtained within six months. Valid driver’s license required. The salary range for this position is $31.98 – $41.06 per hour, depending on qualifications.
