Maintenance Worker

The City of New Ulm is currently accepting applications for two full-time Maintenance Worker positions in the Street Department. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating equipment, solving problems, and seeing the results of your work throughout the community, this could be a great opportunity to join our Public Works team. Maintenance Workers perform hands-on work to keep New Ulm’s streets, infrastructure, and public spaces safe and well maintained. Duties include street and sewer maintenance, signage, grounds and tree care, equipment operation and maintenance, snow and ice removal, facility repairs, and emergency response. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three (3) years of construction trades or related experience, and a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Tanker and air brake endorsements must be obtained within six (6) months of hire. Employees must also be able to report to the Public Works Building within 30 minutes of a call-out. This position is subject to federal CDL drug and alcohol testing requirements. Pay range is $29.45 – $37.82 per hour.
