The City of New Ulm is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for the City Administration Department. This position is approximately 80% custodial work and 20% building/facility maintenance. Duties include routine and heavy custodial cleaning, restroom maintenance, trash and recycling removal, minor building repairs, painting and drywall patching, light plumbing and electrical work, upkeep of mechanical systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, air handlers, and irrigation systems, preventative maintenance, facility inspections, grounds maintenance, snow removal, and maintaining interior and exterior areas of public facilities. The position may also respond to occasional after-hours emergencies. Regular work hours are 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. A minimum of 2 to 5 years of combined custodial and building/facility maintenance experience is required. Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems is also required. Pay range is $26.27 – $33.74 per hour, depending on qualifications.
