Library Assistant; part-time
The New Ulm Public Library is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to assist with a variety of front desk, customer service, and library support duties. Responsibilities include answering questions and phone calls; checking library materials in and out; registering and renewing borrowers; placing holds and interlibrary loan requests; collecting payments; assisting patrons with computers, printers, and digital resources; creating and maintaining displays; and performing other related duties as assigned. Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, strong customer service and communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and familiarity with libraries and library classification systems. A valid driver’s license is required. This is a part-time position scheduled for up to 24 hours per week, with a generally consistent schedule that may occasionally shift to support evening programs, weekend outreach events, or community activities. Hours are posted on the City website. Pay range is $18.10 – $21.38 per hour, depending on qualifications.
