The NintenTones Video Game Jazz Orchestra was founded in 2024 by bandleader Ryan Rader after being awarded an artist grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. The six-piece jazz ensemble includes: Evan Bierer (saxophone), Tom Bierer (trumpet), Nate Beran (trombone), Peter Jacobs (piano), Eric Zimmerman (bass), and Rader (drums). Located in Southern Minnesota, the group performs jazz-infused video game melodies that span the past 40 years of gaming. They aspire to appeal to jazz and video game enthusiasts of all ages and hope to have a few musical surprises in store for the audience.
