Business Succession Discussion Feb. 12 in New Ulm The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Minnesota State University, Mankato along with the City of New Ulm will host a business succession discussion on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, 1 N. Minnesota St. Business succession is the process of preparing a business for a future sale or transaction. This process involves building a plan and educating potential future entrepreneurs like a family member, employees or an outsider buyer, in transferring ownership. A preview of BizLink North, a free online business succession support tool developed at Minnesota State Mankato, will be presented. This session is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch if needed. Lunch is not provided. The SBDC helps entrepreneurs start and grow businesses that succeed through no-cost confidential consulting and business education. The SBDC at Minnesota State University, Mankato serves the counties of Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Sibley, Waseca and Watonwan. In 2019 alone, the Center assisted 495 clients, delivered 5,200 hours of professional consulting, helped to launch 35 new businesses, and facilitated access to $13 million in capital, which was invested in our communities.
