Music by Carver Creek Bluegrass
The Harkin Store is glad to have the Carver Creek Bluegrass back for the 8th. The Carver Creek
Bluegrass, a family of 5 siblings, will be performing a variety of music, playing the banjo, guitar,
bass and fiddle and some unusual ones, like the bodran and musical saw, playing selections of
bluegrass, gospel, Irish and old music. They will play on Sunday afternoon, June 24 from 1 to 4 pm. Come enjoy the porch or bring a blanket or lawn chair for an afternoon of great music. The
family will also have their CD's for sale.
The admission to the program is included with admission to the store. The gift shop is open the
same hours as the store and has many unique and hand crafted items, books, toys, and also
10 cent candy.
The 1870's generals store with 40 % original merchandise is open on Fridays, Saturdays and
Sundays from 10 to 4 pm with programs on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4 pm. come learn about
the store and riverboat village of West Newton while there. The store is located nine miles
northwest of New Ulm on Nicollet County Road 21, or the bottom road, or nine miles east
of Fort Ridgely. Nicollet County Road is under construction so follow the detour signs or call
the store when open at 1-507-354-8666, or Nicollet County Historical Society which operates
the store at 1-507-934-2160.
