Lunch and a Bite of History: The 1914 Popcorn Wagon Presented by Daniel Groebner
Dan Groebner will tell the Popcorn Wagon’s story and explain where popcorn came from and why it tastes so good! Meyers Jorgenson brought New Ulm’s first popcorn wagon to town as a private business in 1914. He and several subsequent owners made the popcorn wagon a downtown landmark that attracted hungry patrons throughout the 20th century. In 2002 the Brown County Historical Society bought and refurbished the Popcorn Wagon. Volunteer staff and generous sponsors continue to make this summer tradition possible.
