Let's Go to Iceland (Part 1 of 2) CAST Educational Program
In New Ulm it's midsummer and hot. Let's go where it's much cooler- Iceland. In addition it also has glaciers, geysers, volcanoes and lava fields, waterfalls, hot springs, wild horses, puffins, and swans, whale watching, a meeting of tectonic plates, a democracy that began in the year 930, almost free energy (but not for the gas in your car), and you are never very far from the sea because almost no one lives in the colder and remote central part of Iceland. Join us for this fascinating program as Lowell shares his trip to Iceland with us! This program is free and open to the public. No pre-registration required. Provided by the CAST Senior Center, this programming was developed to reach a wide audience of senior citizens, providing a variety of interesting subjects via in-person presentations and experiences. Scheduled year-round, we host programs at the CAST Senior Center, but also travel to area libraries, museums, places of interest, and other Senior/Community Centers in our area to introduce Seniors to the many program opportunities that are available. Our programs are open to the public and there are no membership dues. Unless noted, the programs are provided free and no preregistration is required. Carpooling is available for out-of-town trips. Check out our program schedule every month and join us for our next event. We look forward to seeing you!
