As businesses navigate the evolving landscape of energy efficiency and sustainability, the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of providing valuable insights and resources. This Lunch-And-Learn event aims to empower local businesses by shedding light on the various energy programs and rebates available to them.
Derek Nelson, Energy Services Representative with New Ulm Public Utilities, will be the featured speaker, guiding attendees through the landscape of energy-related incentives. Topics to be covered include:
- Programs and Rebates: An overview of available energy programs and rebates that businesses can leverage to enhance their energy efficiency and reduce costs.
- Importance and Benefits: Insight into why businesses should prioritize energy efficiency, including environmental benefits, cost savings, and the positive impact on the community.
- Step-by-Step Guidance: Practical steps and guidelines for businesses to follow in order to take advantage of the available programs and rebates, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Partnerships and Resources: Identification of key partnerships and resources that businesses can tap into for ongoing support and guidance in their energy efficiency endeavors.
This Hot Topics event provides a unique opportunity for local business owners, managers, and decision-makers to engage with an expert in the field, ask questions, and network with peers who share a common interest in sustainable business practices.
In addition to Derek’s presentation, select local businesses will share first-hand experience of their efforts to become more energy efficient, and representatives from the Minnesota Waste Wise Foundation will also share information about their programs, which offer consultations and recommendations for energy efficiency and waste reduction projects. Their Energy Smart team is contracted with the US Department of Agriculture to work with the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). This program extends financial assistance to small businesses in rural areas, enabling them to undertake crucial energy efficiency enhancements. REAP funding covers a wide range of eligible projects, including HVAC systems, insulation, lighting, renewables and energy management systems.
