Homelessness in Brown County
What is homelessness? Is there Homelessness in Brown County? How much is there? What, if anything, is being done to help the homeless, and by whom? Has the level increased, decreased or remained the same, and why?
Homelessness is defined as anybody whose housing situation includes living in a shelter, a motel, or campground due to the lack of an alternative adequate accommodation, a car, park, abandoned building, or bus or train station, or doubled up with other people due to loss of housing or economic hardship.
As County Commissioner, Dave Borchert has identified homelessness as a major issue that can be corrected within New Ulm and Brown County. Dave is a member of the Brown County Homelessness Coalition.
Homelessness is a challenging area and we need to work on this problem as a community. Dave is confident that we can improve the situation by working together. Join our discussion on Thursday, June 29, at 1:30pm at the CAST Senior Center in Room 111A.
