Fasching
The Concord Singers are sponsoring Fasching, one of the top 25 festivals in Minnesota. One of the oldest customs celebrated in Germany is the "Carnival". Fasching is the traditional German "Carnival" or "Mardi Gras" celebration held the weekend before Ash Wednesday. Fasching originated in the European Alps to chase the winter away. The festival features German food and beverages, festive German music, dancing and a costume contest. Continuous entertainment starts at 12 Noon and continues until 10 PM. Featured performers include several old-time and German-style bands, along with your hosts, New Ulm?s famous Concord Singers. The highlight of the festival will be a "Parade of Costumes" at 7:00 PM. Prizes will be given for best costumes. Costumes are encouraged but not necessary. Enjoy good food and drink and have a great time with your friends (old and new!)
