No preregistration needed. Made possible by the Optimist Club of New Ulm. You’re welcome to bring your own refreshments. Free hearing devices compatible with the sound system are available to use. And you don’t have to be a “senior” to attend! See some old favorites and discover some new ones. Join us for a fun afternoon of classic cinema! Movie Overview: In Storm Warning, a fashion model named Marsha Mitchell, played by Ginger Rogers, travels to a small Southern town to visit her sister, Lucy Rice, played by Doris Day. During her visit, Marsha witnesses the brutal murder of an investigative journalist by the Ku Klux Klan. The film explores the impact of this event on Marsha and her sister as they grapple with the implications of the Klan’s actions and the need to confront the terror and corruption that lurks behind the symbols of hatred. The film’s narrative is a powerful commentary on the societal issues of the time, particularly the Klan’s influence and the struggle for justice. Also starring Ronald Reagan and Steve Cochran.
