With a bit of tweaking this sort of vaguely labyrinthine plotting goes on wherever there is a quest for power and control. The main actors - Fiennes, Tucci, Lithgow, Rossellini and Msamati, deliver powerful performances, and the film is worth seeing for these alone. Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope. Once the Catholic Church's most powerful leaders have gathered from around the world and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence uncovers a trail of conspiracies, intrigue, and deep secrets left in the dead Pope's wake--secrets which could shake the foundations of the Church. About our Movie Matinees: The CAST Senior Center is partnering with the New Ulm Public Library to bring you Movie Matinees. Held in the Meeting Room in the lower level of the New Ulm Public Library, we will present a different movie each Friday afternoon at 1pm. Our movies are free, and everyone is welcome to attend.
