"AM Radio Memories" Live Music with Joey Leone - CAST/Library Educational Program
Join the New Ulm Public Library and the CAST Senior Center as we welcome talented blues musician Joey Leone and his Band for a fun presentation on radio hits of yesteryear. Joey and his band will be presenting and performing at the New Ulm Community Center on Tuesday, July 15 at 1 PM. Before cell phones, Spotify, iPods, CD's, and computers, there was the transistor radio – from the family car stereo, large tabletop version to the portable battery powered radio you could hold in your hand. Joey takes an in-depth yet lighthearted look at the songs that came out of our AM radios during the 60's, 70's and 80's. Unforgettable songs recorded by prolific hit makers, including several "one hit wonders" by obscure artists who would never be heard from again! Joey adds fun facts, musical insights, and personal stories about the music that gave us so many "AM Radio Memories." This program is free and open to the public. No pre-registration required. Hosted by the CAST Senior Center, CAST Educational Programs were developed to reach a wide audience of senior citizens, providing a variety of interesting subjects via in-person presentations and experiences. Scheduled year-round, we host programs at the CAST Senior Center, but also travel to area libraries, museums, places of interest, and other Senior/Community Centers in our area to introduce Seniors to the many program opportunities that are available. Our programs are open to the public and there are no membership dues. Unless noted, the programs are provided free and no preregistration is required. Carpooling is available for out-of-town trips. Check out our program schedule every month and join us for our next event. We look forward to seeing you!
