News Release: 2/10/2026
New Ulm, Mn — On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, school districts and transportation providers across Minnesota will recognize Minnesota School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, honoring the dedicated drivers who safely transport students every day.
Recognized by the Minnesota Association for Pupil Transportation (MAPT) and the Minnesota School Bus Operators Association (MSBOA), this annual day highlights the critical role school bus drivers play in student safety, education, and the community.
School bus drivers are often the first and last school staff members students see each day. In all weather conditions, they ensure students arrive at school and return home safely, while building trusted relationships with families and schools along the way.
“School bus drivers do so much more than drive,” said Ray Vulcan, Site Manager. “They are safety professionals, mentors, and a consistent presence for our students. This day is an opportunity to thank them for the care and commitment they bring to our communities.”
Community members are encouraged to participate by thanking a school bus driver, sharing messages of appreciation on social media, or recognizing drivers within their local schools.
