Job Summary
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, teachers, and other support staff.
- Provide direct instruction to students using evidence-based teaching strategies and differentiated instruction techniques.
- Assess students' strengths and challenges, use data to inform instructional decisions, and modify teaching approaches as needed.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, respected, and supported.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other specialists to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to student learning and development.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, address concerns, and solicit feedback.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education and enhance your skills as an educator.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education.
- Licensure in ASD or ABS is preferred, other areas will be considered.
- Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to: autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and specific learning disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, administrators and external stakeholders.
Compensation Package – Position Classification BA-1 offers a starting salary of $52,201 - $88,001 per year, based on experience. Additionally, a benefits package is available that includes health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, dental insurance, vision insurance, and 403b retirement plan.
