The Amazing World of Frequency: From Bad Vibes to Good Vibrations - CAST Virtual Program
Frequencies are all around us: from the rumbles of tsunamis to the vibrations of atoms that make Time itself. In this unique class, educator and musician Richard Mainwaring will lead us along an Infinite Piano of waves that wobble everything — from cat purrs to rainbows. This fascinating exploration of vibrations will include stories such as: how World War 2 German bombers wreaked havoc on the English city of Coventry due to a musical mistake of three notes; why rats’ whiskers are tuned like the strings of a harp; and how levitation IS possible through the most unlikely sound source. Plus, we will learn how Autotune truly works! Provided by Curiosity University. Provided by the CAST Senior Center, our Virtual Programs provide an endless variety of interesting subjects. Our Virtual Programs take us across the country, experiencing and learning about places and people which we wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to experience. Scheduled every Tuesday afternoon, unless noted, at 1pm at the CAST Senior Center, our Virtual Programs are free and open to the public. There are no membership dues and everyone is welcome to attend. Programming is provided by CuriousityU.com and other online providers. Check out our virtual program schedule every month and join us! We look forward to seeing you!
