Tell Me More - Notable Women of Brown County
The Brown County Historical Society invites the public to attend "Tell Me More - Notable Women of Brown County" on Thursday, March 30 at the New Ulm Best Western Plus. Dinner at 6:00 – Program at 7:00. Dress from the time of the 40's-60's and qualify for a door prize drawing. Cameo appearances will include: Doris Aufderheide, long time news personality on KNUJ radio. Doris will share delicious recipes and also bites of the latest news. Barbara Dorn, correspondent on KLGR radio and announcer for Springfield local television will spread the news from that area. Arline Schmiesing, author and newspaper columnist for the Hanska Herald will share her knowledge of Hanska history and current events. Elizabeth Scobie will be on hand from Sleepy Eye to alert you to all of the news in this wide awake community. Elizabeth had a long career as a journalist for the Sleepy Eye Herald and the New Ulm Journal. Returning to share bits of gossip and introduce the above women will be the notable Rosa Penning Schnobrich, founder of Schnobrichs Meat Market in New Ulm This program is made possible with support from the Marjorie F. Gislason speaker series sponsored by Dan and Nancy Gislason. Tickets must be purchased in advance; tickets will not be available at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce and at the Brown County Museum until the deadline, Friday, March 24th.
