Shopping with Laura Ingalls at Harkin Store
On your way back from Walnut Grove, stop at the Harkin Store to see what Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family might have purchased at Oleson Mercantile. The Harkin Store—which was open in the 1870s when Laura lived in Walnut Grove—has 40 percent of the original merchandise still on the shelves.
Explore the store and meet interpreters who will share a unique bit of history. Old-fashioned egg coffee, lemonade, and samples of store goods will be available.
