Shoe Making Demonstartion at the Historic Kiesling House
Programming 8/7/21 will be the craft of Shoe Making. Demonstrations will run from 1-4. Explore the Historic Kiesling House. Constructed in 1861; it survived the US – Dakota War of 1862, tornados, blackbirds, grasshoppers, and city development. It is one of the few structures in Brown County, from that era, that is accessible to the public. Participate in a wide variety of experiences scheduled at various times throughout the season. Learn about early pioneer settlement, customs, and traditions of area immigrants. Discover and reexamine events, like the US-Dakota War of 1862, that shaped New Ulm. Examine the development of community and influence of social and political issues on area residents.
