CAST Senior Center trip to Gaylord, MN. This interactive, hands-on, living history experience will present the causes of the Civil War and the typical daily life of a Minnesota soldier fighting to preserve the Union. Presenter Arn Kind is a retired teacher and member of the First Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment, a reenactment group based at Fort Snelling. The group has performed in a number of Hollywood movies including 'Blue and Gray', 'Glory', 'Dances with Wolves' and 'North and South'. Arn brings this authenticity to his hands-on, interactive presentation about the soldiers of the Civil War era. As part of his program, he brings artifacts, uniforms and equipment.
