Memorial Day Observance & Parade
Parade - 9 am sharp
Observance at Cemetery - 10 am (in case of rain, services will be held at te COmmunity Center on North German Street).
Luncheon at the Legion following the cemetery services. Plants for veterans at the luncheon provided by River Bend Education District.
Parade will be led by massed colors (veteran's organizations, New Ulm Fire Department, National Guard), New Ulm High School Band, Cathedral High School Band, the veterans organizations, Auxiliary units and Gold Star Parents, Boy Scounts, Girl Scouts, School Children, a horse-drawn wagon and the New Ulm Battery.
Master of Ceremonies for Observance at the Cemetery is Brian KroschSnare drum escort provided by Municipal Band for Gold Star Parents, followed by the color guard.
Musical Selections: Municipal Band directed by Don Jirak, and the Concord Singers, under the direction of Pat Sonneck, including the Service Songs.
Gettysberg Address: Peter Spengler, an honor graduate of New Ulm High School
Memorial Address: Grace Peterson, an honor graduate from MVL High School.
Musical Selections- Muncipal Band (2 selections) and the Concord Singers.
Traditional Salute by New Ulm Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.
Salute by New Ulm Battery, directed by Capt. Ryan Kelly

Doves released by Roger Besemer
National Anthem: Municipal Band, Concord Singers and the audience.
Retirement of Colors by the Veterans Color Guard.
Sponsored by the Joint Veterans Council: Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 15 and Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1648, American Legion Post 132 and Auxiliary, and Sons of American Legion (SAL) and the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Prairieland Defenders Chapter 807.
Avenue of Flags will be displayed (weather permitting). Flags will be set up at noon on Saturday, May 25 and take down is Tuesday, May 28 at 9 am.
Bronze Flag Staffs and Flags will be placed in the Veterans Section of City Cemetery on Thursday, May 23 at 9 am. Someone will be at the cemetery to assist with flags and staffs as follows:
May 25 - 10 am - 2 pm
May 26 -- 10 am - 12 pm
May 27, following programs until noon.

Location
Parade forms between 5th and 7th South by St. Mary's Church, and proceeds north from St. Mary's Church on Minnesota Street. Parade Route: Fifth South and Minnesota St to Fifth North and Minnesota Street.
