New Ulm Chamber of Commerce

German-Bohemian Heritage Society Spring Banquet

Irmgard and Gerhard Kleih will be sharing their family’s stories of surviving WWII and living through the aftermath of the war, being expelled from their homes and beginning a new life in war-torn, devastated Germany.
Irmgard was born in Fuchsberg, a German Bohemian village in western Czechoslovakia near the border to Bavaria, Germany. Gerhard’s family moved into German occupied territory in Poland during the war.
Each family lost their homes and had to begin a new life in Germany. Learn about how life’s events brought them together, and their starting a new life in the  United States.
It will be an interesting and inspiring evening!
