The stage is set in the charming town of Sweet Apple Valley, Ohio, during the vibrant era of the late 1950s, where the heartthrob of the nation, Conrad Birdie, faces the inevitable - his draft into the U.S. Army. As teenage fans weep over the news, his manager, Albert Peterson, grapples with the prospect of a future without his star performer, and the weight of keeping the music company afloat. Amidst the chaos, Albert's devoted secretary, Rose Alvarez, drops a bombshell of her own—she's leaving.

Enter Kim MacAfee, a young woman caught in the whirlwind of first love with Hugo Peabody, who is about to be swept away from the tranquility of her life by the very same Conrad Birdie she thought she had outgrown. As the town prepares for the legendary singer's farewell performance and final kiss on national television, hilarity ensues, relationships are tested, and the magic of rock 'n' roll brings everyone together in unexpected ways.
