Don’t miss this Academy-Award winning animated film of the classic fairy tale Peter and the Wolf, accompanied by the Mankato Symphony Orchestra! The film, directed by Suzie Templeton, uses only music and images to tell the dramatic fairy tale story of the young Peter confronted by a wolf. Prokofiev provides the uninterrupted stream of music, with every character in the story represented by a different instrument in the orchestra. The concert concludes with the fabulous Polovtsian Dances by Borodin and Fantasy-Overture by Tchaikovsky. This concert is truly a treasure trove of fantasy-style masterpieces, lovingly crafted by the most influential late 19th and early 20th century Russian composers. 15 tickets have been reserved for our group.
