CAST Movie Matinee: Back to the Future (1985)
Hill Valley, California, 1985. Destined to follow in his wimpy dad's footsteps, average high school teenager Marty McFly is about to make history. And when his crackpot scientist friend Emmett "Doc" Brown fashions a time machine out of a 1982 DeLorean DMC-12, Marty inadvertently jumps back 30 years to do the unthinkable. But things were different in 1955. Like a fish out of water, Marty gives his all to keep the time/space continuum intact; however, unforeseen romantic complications stand in the way of a safe return. Now, a pressing question arises. What will it take to go back to the future? The CAST Senior Center is partnering with the New Ulm Public Library to bring you Movie Matinees for Seniors. Held in the Meeting Room in the lower level of the New Ulm Public Library, we will present a different movie each Friday afternoon at 1pm. These movies are free, and everyone is welcome to attend. No preregistration needed. Made possible by the Optimist Club of New Ulm. For 2024, our monthly movie theme is “Through the Decades”. We will be showing movies from the Top 100 Movies list of their decade, beginning with the 1930s in March and ending with the 2020s in December. See some old favorites and maybe discover some new ones. Join us for a fun afternoon of classic cinema!
