Brown County Public Health is excited to announce a free lunch and learn Resiliency Series beginning Friday, January 27. You’re invited to join us for this in-person, 30-minute community conversation on how we can learn and grow together to move forward from any type of adversity. The series will be presented by Erin Schwab, CPP, Health Educator and Planner for Brown County Public Health. The series will be held each month in Room 111 at the CAST Senior Center, 600 North German Street, in New Ulm. Attendees may bring their own bag lunch, if they wish. No preregistration required and all are welcome to attend! Session 1: - Promoting Healing and Self-Care: Traumatic experiences and life changes can make big impacts on our overall health and wellness. By understanding how our body responds to such events, we can take small and simple actions to create positive changes in our lives and those around us in our communities. Learn about indicators of healing and the importance of self-care in this 30 minute community style conversation. The last several years have taught us many things, one being the importance of communities coming together in times of difficulty (whether that be the loss of a loved one, a medical emergency, a natural disaster, or a worldwide pandemic). This free of cost series, which will be held once a month through May, will concentrate on specific building blocks of resilience. It will give everyone the opportunity to gather tools they can use to build resilience for themselves, their family, their workplace, and our communities at large. While this is a five part series, it is not required to attend all five. You may pick and choose one or more or you may choose to come to all five parts. Certificates of attendance will be given after each part of the series.
