BCHS Lunch & A Bite of History: "National Conditions that led to New Ulm's Founding"
Brown County Historical Society's "Lunch and a Bite of History"
"National Conditions that led to New Ulm's Founding" by Terry Sveine
This presentation will look at the two founding groups of New Ulm and why they chose to emigrate again after already settling in Chicago and Cincinnati. In the mid-1800s, the national conditions in the United States were not always welcoming to immigrants and we will trace a brief national history of how this affected our founders.
