To follow up on our August 5 program, “Wanda and the Youngsters”, we’re presenting another documentary by OxCart Productions: “Anton Gag: Immigrant Artist. A documentary biography of the German-Bohemian painter, photographer and fresco artist from New Ulm, Minnesota. Father of Wanda Gåg, author and artist. Narrated by the late George Glotzbach, New Ulm historian. Worthy of discussion are complex cultural concepts such as assimilation, adaptation, acculturation, diffusion and dissonance and examples in which individuals and groups organize around common needs, interests and beliefs. Also presented will be “Anton Gåg: Art Appreciation”, a 30-minute presentation of the most complete collection of the artist's work. Narrated by Ruth Grim, art historian. Provided by OxCart Productions. Continue the learning! Join us on Thursday, September 25 at 1pm for this week’s Educational Program as we tour of the Wanda Gag House. Provided by the CAST Senior Center, our Documentary Programs provide an endless variety of interesting subjects in a prerecorded, professional film format. They take us across the country and around the world, experiencing and learning about places and people which we wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to experience. Our documentaries are entertaining, informative, and inspiring. They offer a unique and powerful form of storytelling that captures your attention and provoke thought and discussion. Scheduled every Tuesday afternoon, unless noted, at 1pm at the CAST Senior Center, our Documentary Programs are free and open to the public. There are no membership dues, and everyone is welcome to attend. Programming is provided by Curiosity U and other online providers. Check out our documentary program schedule every month and join us. We look forward to seeing you!
