AN EVENING WITH KAO KALIA YANG

The Southwest Minnesota Reading Council (SWMRC) is delighted to invite you to a special evening with award-winning Hmong American author Kao Kalia Yang on the campus of Martin Luther College on Monday, November 9, at 6:00 p.m.!
Join us for an inspiring evening celebrating the power of stories, the beauty of language, and the connections that reading and writing create. Kao Kalia Yang will share her thoughts on reading with compassion and writing with heart, read selections from her recent works, and answer questions from the audience. Whether you are thinking about teaching, staff ministry, or preaching, or you are a reader, a writer, or simply someone who loves a good story, this promises to be a memorable evening!

Lykke Books of New Ulm, Minnesota, is partnering with SWMRC to coordinate reservations and offer books for purchase. Use the URL or scan the QR code on the attached flyer to reserve your seat. Reservations help us plan how many books to have on hand, as well as our refreshments. [Here's the  LINK too]. When you get to the "complete your registration" part, a screen will appear where you can enter a coupon code. Use this special code (STUDENTLOVE)  to register at no cost (FREE)!

You can still show up on Monday evening, even if you don't register.

We hope you’ll join us for this wonderful opportunity to hear from a gifted storyteller whose words invite us to see the world through others’ eyes and connect with the experiences that unite us.

Please join us for an enriching evening of stories, reflection, and inspiration. We look forward to seeing you there!
