SUMMARY:"Stories of America's National Parks: Denali and Grand Canyon" CAST Educational Program
DESCRIPTION:Denali: What's in a Name?: Bundle up as you ascend the heights of Denali National Park\, the tallest peak in North America. The park's rich cultural history includes Indigenous groups who have called Alaska home for thousands of years. These groups along with gold miners\, big-game hunters\, and mountaineers all played a role in preserving this awe-inspiring wilderness. Run time: 28 minutes. Grand Canyon: Building on the Edge: Many of us have fond memories of visiting the Grand Canyon with our families\, but what is the story behind Grand Canyon National Park? What do the geological formations tell us about millions of years of Earth's history? And how did one of the nation's foremost architects work to shape visitor experiences at the Grand Canyon? Deepen your understanding of one of America's most famous landscapes. Run time: 30 minutes. Hosted by the CAST Senior Center\, CAST Educational Programs were developed to reach a wide audience of senior citizens\, providing a variety of interesting subjects via in-person presentations and experiences. Scheduled year-round\, we host programs at the CAST Senior Center\, but also travel to area libraries\, museums\, places of interest\, and other Senior/Community Centers in our area to introduce Seniors to the many program opportunities that are available. Our programs are open to the public and there are no membership dues. Unless noted\, the programs are provided free and no preregistration is required. Carpooling is available for out-of-town trips. Check out our program schedule every month and join us for our next event. We look forward to seeing you!
