DESCRIPTION:Captain Gravitone & the String Theory Orchestra is a Minnesota-based band. The group plays original\, roots-based\, alternative music that includes elements of jazz\, folk\, rock\, tango and funk. Led by banjoist Eli Hoehn\, the group performs mostly in Minnesota. The band includes bassist\, Kelly Coyle\, drummer\, Damen Price\, trombonist\, Nate Beran\, and keyboardist\, Peter Jacobs. The group formed as a 3-piece in 2012 with founding members\, Hoehn\, Wayne Schmidt and Jason Helder. The group has released three CD projects including\, "What's the Matter with Captain Gravitone?" (2012)\, "A Real Fine Day (when the circus comes to town)" (2015)\, and their latest release\, "A Universe Parallel to Our Own" (2018). Much of Gravitone's music revolves around the fictional super-hero\, Captain Gravitone.
