DESCRIPTION:With LeRoy Harris\, Programming & Technology Services Librarian\, New Ulm Public Library What is Artificial Intelligence? Defined as "the application of computer systems able to perform tasks or produce output normally requiring human intelligence\, especially by applying machine learning techniques to large collections of data"\, it is one of the fastest growing fields in technology\, but it's not a new idea. Join the New Ulm Public Library and the CAST Senior Center for a 90-minute seminar about the origins of artificial intelligence\, the basics of how it works\, how it is changing\, and what are the challenges it presents to us in the 21st century. Educational Programs Hosted by the CAST Senior Center\, CAST Educational Programs were developed to reach a wide audience of senior citizens\, providing a variety of interesting subjects via in-person presentations and experiences. Scheduled year-round\, we host programs at the CAST Senior Center\, but also travel to area libraries\, museums\, places of interest\, and other Senior/Community Centers in our area to introduce Seniors to the many program opportunities that are available. Our programs are open to the public and there are no membership dues. Unless noted\, the programs are provided free and no preregistration is required. Carpooling is available for out-of-town trips. Check out our program schedule every month and join us for our next event. We look forward to seeing you!
