The public is invited to learn how to make butter at Historic Kiesling House Sunday, June 12, from 1:00 – 4:00. Visitors can help make butter. They will experience the stages of making butter including churning, removing the butter milk and shaping the butter. Butter molds and other items used for making butter will be on display. The Kiesling House was constructed in 1861 by Friedrich Kiesling; it survived the US-Dakota War of 1862 and is the only wood-framed house from that era remaining in Brown County. Learn about Friedrich and Caroline Kiesling, their family and their house.

Jun 26 Veteran Suicide Awareness Event at Riverside Park
You are invited to Riverside Park on Sunday June 26 for an event to bring awareness to Veteran Suicide Prevention. 

A Ruck March will be starting in Mankato at 4am and will complete the March to Riverside Park in New Ulm (23 miles for the 22 Veterans and 1 Active Duty Service Member that take their lives every day).

At Riverside Park from 12-4pm there will be Food, music and a lot of information about Suicide Prevention, Veteran Organizations and support groups. 

Upon entering city limits the marchers will be greeted by a cannon volley throughout New Ulm. Once the walkers have reached the park (approx. 12-1) Marchers will be greeted by attendees.  A brief Memorial Service, Taps, a rendition of the National Anthem and a balloon release (available for purchase at the park) will all take place after the Marchers have all reached the park. 

After that, enjoy the food, and music. Bring your own lawn chairs if you wish. Feel free to check out the information that will be available by the different groups who have made themselves available to share valuable information with us all. 

This is an event to raise awareness of the Prevention of Veteran and Active Duty Suicide, However, this is not limited to only Veterans.
