Dec 5 Business of the Year Banquet
The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that New Ulm Turner Hall has been named the 2016 Business of the Year.  A banquet to celebrate this distinction will be held on Monday, December 5th at the New Ulm Conference Center/Best Western Plus.

Founded in 1856, Turner Hall is central to the community’s history. The Turner motto is “Sound mind in a sound body,” with the addition of a little Gemütlichkeit. Not surprisingly, then, it was home to the first high school in New Ulm, runs the oldest gymnastics program in Minnesota (Turner is German for gymnast), and boasts of the state’s oldest bar. In recent years, Turner Hall has opened its doors to community groups, special civic events, weddings, and tourists. Its Rathskeller is one of the city’s most popular dining spots, with patrons enjoying great food surrounded by historic murals with scenes of Germany.

The 2016 Business of the Year Banquet will be held at the New Ulm Conference Center/Best Western Plus on Monday, December 5th.  Social hour begins at 5:15, with the banquet beginning at 6:15 and a program to follow.  Tickets are $25 and are available now through November 21 at the New Ulm Area Chamber Office at 1 N. Minnesota St., Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 10am-3pm.   Contact the Chamber with any questions or comments: chamber@newulm.com, 507-233-4300.  More information about this event is in the community calendar at www.newulm.com.
