Jun 10 RENT at the Orpheum Theatre
Registration deadline May 15, 2017 Bus will leave at 11:30am from the Middle School Parking Lot on South Garden Street. Jonathan Larson’s RENT makes it way back to the Orpheum Theater! This Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Masterpiece continue to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and all over the world. In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway… and forever changed the landscape of American theater. A reimagining of Puccini’s La Boheme, Rent follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters- love.

Bonnie has had Type 1 Diabetes since she was a child, has lived with this disease for 55 years, and lost her sight from complications of this disease. She speaks on the daily life of a diabetic and the importance of finding a cure for this disease, so that no child will have to follow her footsteps in their journey through life.

Both Bob and Bonnie are members of the Lions Club of New Ulm. Hear how the Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation is aiding in the research at the University of Minnesota for a cure for diabetes. All are welcome. Come and bring a friend.
