DESCRIPTION:Annually on the Friday evening after Thanksgiving\, New Ulm welcomes Santa to town with a Parade of Lights. The 31st Annual Parade of Lights will be held on Friday\, November 29th\, 2019 at 6pm. Over 60 units\, brightly lit with thousands of twinkling lights\, makes its way through our Historic Downtown. The historic downtown is lined with real Christmas trees\, and real garland hangs from above. Children of all ages will delight in this event!\n\n\n\nNote: There is no parking on Minnesota Street from 2nd S to 4th N. This is for safety reasons as well as for guest experience.\n\n\n\nThis is a great time to check out our shops and restaurants before and after the parade. There are many family-friendly activities happening before and after the parade\, including free admission to Flandrau State Park\, A Charlie Brown Christmas at State Street Theater\, Christmas Tree Open House at A to Zinnia\, Holiday Open House at the Brown County History Museum\, performances by the Schell's Hobo Quartet\, free hot chocolate provided by SouthPoint Financial Credit Union\, free hot chocolate/hot apple cider/cookies at Big Ideas\, and much more!\n\n\n\nHead to City Hall after the parade for the Official Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. City officials will lead the ceremony with some help from the New Ulm Royalty and Santa himself! Also\, be sure you stop by the Brown County Historical Society Museum for their Holiday Open House after the parade.
