You Shouldn't Have to Choose: Info from the MVAC - CAST Educational Program
Angela’s presentation will encompass the whole family approach to Minnesota Valley Action Council. She will begin with a bit of history of action councils (the where and why they began). The presentation will highlight their program areas, as well as more detailed information for those specific to seniors. As we enter the cold weather season, the Energy Assistance Program (EAP) is a program that provides funds to assist in paying heating and electric bills, disconnections for homeowners and renters and to help pay for heating system repairs or replacements for homeowners. Hosted by the CAST Senior Center, CAST Educational Programs were developed to reach a wide audience of senior citizens, providing a variety of interesting subjects via in-person presentations and experiences. Scheduled year-round, we host programs at the CAST Senior Center, but also travel to area libraries, museums, places of interest, and other Senior/Community Centers in our area to introduce Seniors to the many program opportunities that are available. Our programs are open to the public and there are no membership dues. Unless noted, the programs are provided free and no preregistration is required. Carpooling is available for out-of-town trips. Check out our program schedule every month and join us for our next event. We look forward to seeing you!
