World War I Author to Speak in New Ulm
The Brown County Historical Society and New Ulm Public Library will welcome World War I author James Carl Nelson on Monday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at the library, 17 N. Broadway. Nelson, a longtime journalist at the Miami Herald, will discuss the Doughboy experience and his acclaimed World War I books, "The Remains of Company D: A Story of the Great War" and "Five Lieutenants: The Heartbreaking Story of Five Harvard Men Who Led America to Victory in World War I." This event, which is free and open to the public, is made possible by a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative and was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
