On Saturday, August 22 at 10 a.m. at the Brown County Historical Society Annex, representatives of the Lower Sioux Indian Community will present "Traditional Dakota Gardening," a hands-on family program that will include displays of tools used and dried plants that people of all ages can handle. This program, part of the 153rd commemoration of the U.S.-Dakota War, is co-sponsored by the Brown County Historical Society. It is free and open to the public; seating is first come, first served. It is made possible by a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative and was funded in part with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
