THE SCHEDULE - Saturday, October 6 - Grounds open at 11:00 am; Three Competitive Stomps are scheduled for 1:00, 2:00 & 3:00; Performance Art throughout the afternoon; a Taste of New Ulm all day- offering a unique variety of artisan produced food & local wine and craft beer; and the 15th Annual SAY CHEESE! SAVOR the WINE specialty cheese and wine pairing event.
THE STOMPERS - The main event for the first weekend of New Ulm’s Oktoberfest is Morgan Creek Vineyards’ 20th Annual Great Grape Stomp on the winery festival grounds nine miles east of New Ulm 15 miles west of Mankato off of scenic HWY 68 along the Southern Minnesota River Valley.
Official Stomps are scheduled for 1:00 | 2:00 | 3:00 and advanced registration is required. (Walk-ins may be lucky to find a slot
occasionally - but, plan to call us ahead of the event , during our business hours, to reserve your group vat - 3 to 5 stompers per vat - 10 vats compete at each heat for a total of 50 stompers per heat.
The team producing the largest volume of juice stomped from the fresh grapes will receive a free case of wine ($200.00 value).
Each member of the Best Stomper “Concept and Costume” wins a bottle of our seasonal featured dessert ice wine. (Black Ice or Sweet E) Costumes are not required!- but sure make stomping a lot more fun!
THE PERFORMANCE ART - Featuring this season our Bavarian guest musicians Oachkazlschwoarf; our troubadours of hospitality - the Minnesota Traditional Morris Dancers of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival; join us for their 20th appearance at the STOMP!; and the second year for a new addition to the dance line-up, the Satori Violet Belly Dancers of Mankato; and of course the infamous New Ulm Narren - the Black Forest Masked Visitors - all will perform on the winery grounds from 12:00 - 3:00. A special treat to close out the day is our STOMP! rock band 3:00 - 5:00.

WOOD AND PIT FIRED FOOD: Morgan Creek’s European style wood fired oven artisan appetizers, pizzettes and Swiss raclettes, wood fired hot pretzels, and other snacks may be ordered to compliment hand crafted wines available by the glass or by the bottle.
FIRE PIT PORK: Our SIGNATURE Grape Stomp event provided by New Ulm’s Chef Lacey Lueth of Lola’s American Bistro! Lacey takes a turn at our, one-of-a kind, Imu Pit Oven at the Foot of the Vineyard. The “Lynch Pit”, designed by Minneapolis Executive Chef Paul Lynch, is in his words - “the Cadillac of pit oven cooking!” Lynch designed the pit, with the help of Morgan Creek’s Adam Marti, with the purpose of creating a showcase of open fire wood cooking for which Lynch is nationally renown. Come experience it for yourself!

Saturday Grape Stomp Festival 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm featuring Brunch at the Winery from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Our regular Saturday Jazz Nite! will not be offered on Saturday, October 6 due to grape stomp events.
Next up Jazz Nite! Saturday, October 13 , for the SECOND BIG Oktoberfest weekend at Morgan Creek Vineyards.

Morgan Creek Vineyards is located in Blue Earth County east of New Ulm and west of Mankato off of scenic HWY 68. Turn at junction 47, drive 2 miles to county road 101. Stomp Parkers will direct you to our Shuttle Lot where you can shuttle a block away to the winery entrance.
