Shopping with Laura Ingalls
On your way back from Walnut Grove, stop at the Harkin Store to see what Laura and her family would have purchased at Oleson Mercantile. The Harkin Store, which was open in the 1870s when Laura lived in Walnut Grove, has 40 percent of the original merchandise still on the shelves. Explore the store and meet costumed interpreters who will share a unique bit of history. Old-fashioned egg coffee, lemonade and samples of "store goods" will be available.
