In 1800s Minnesota, people spent many months preparing for winter, including canning, drying, candle-making, soap-making, putting up their gardens, cutting enough firewood and getting food stocked for themselves and the animals. Learn more about the domestic side of this process by viewing historic equipment and pictures of farm life.

Admission to the program is included with your site admission of $6 adults, $5 seniors, college students, and veterans & active military, $4 children ages 5-17 and Free for children age 4 and under and Nicollet County and Minnesota Historical Society members.
