Minnesota Proud Speaker Series
New Ulm Area Community Education and New Ulm Public Library will host the Minnesota Proud speaker series at New Ulm Public Library, 17 N. Broadway.
The final program is on Thursday, April 30 at 7 p.m. when Cathy Wurzer, anchor of "Morning Edition" on Minnesota Public Radio and co-host of "Almanac" on Twin Cities Public Television, will share a multimedia presentation based on her public television documentary and companion book "Tales of the Road: Highway 61." Wurzer will share history and stories about the places along Highway 61, the 440-mile road that runs from the Canadian border at Pigeon Falls south to LaCrescent near the Iowa border.
This series is made possible by a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative and was funded with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Seating is first come, first served. Call 504-359-8332 for more information.
