Mammoths and More: Fossils of Brown County - CAST Educational Program
Sarah Sveine, Program Coordinator for the Brown County Historical Society, will present their newest program on the amazing fossils that have been found in our area. Join us and learn about the process of finding fossils, where and how to look for them, conduct research and the carbon-dating process. The mammoth tusk pictured here, which is on display at the Museum, was found in Brown County, and is at least 22,000 years old! Hosted by the CAST Senior Center, CAST Educational Programs were developed to reach a wide audience of senior citizens, providing a variety of interesting subjects via in-person presentations and experiences. Scheduled year-round, we host programs at the CAST Senior Center, but also travel to area libraries, museums, places of interest, and other Senior/Community Centers in our area to introduce Seniors to the many program opportunities that are available. Our programs are open to the public and there are no membership dues. Unless noted, the programs are provided free, and no preregistration is required. Carpooling is available for out-of-town trips. Check out our program schedule every month and join us for our next event. We look forward to seeing you!
