Life Living Series 2015 - Be Inspired
The United Way of the Brown County Area, New Ulm Community Education, and New Ulm Public Library announce the 2015 Life Living Series - Be Inspired. All programs begin at 7 p.m. at the State Street Theater, 15 N. State in New Ulm. On Monday, January 12, author Jennifer Schwertfeger will share her family's life-changing journey after daughter Grace was born at 24 weeks. Copies of "Life With Grace: A Reference Guide for Parents of Premature Babies" will be available for purchase. On Monday, January 19, Chris Doege will present "Incarceration to Freedom: Helping Offenders Transition Back to the Community." Doege is Adult Reentry Manager for Amicus, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting offenders take up positive roles in the community for 47 years. On Monday, February 9, author Laura Sobiech will share the story of a mother's love, a son's battle with cancer, and the hit song that touched the lives of millions. Sobiech is the mother of Zach Sobiech, singer/songwriter of "Clouds." Her book, "Fly a Little Higher: How God Answered a Mom's Small Prayer in a Big Way," will be available for sale. All programs are free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. This series is made possible in part by a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative and was funded in part with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
